TCP Monitors

A TCP monitor attempts to open a connection to a hostname and port, such as database.example.com:5432.

Configuration

Choose TCP, enter the host and port, then select the interval, locations, timeout, and optional degraded threshold. For an internal host, attach a private location that can reach it.

A successful connection establishes that the port accepted a connection. It does not validate database queries, application responses, or credentials. Use a protocol-aware health endpoint where you need application-level assurance.

Check firewall and security-group rules when a target works locally but fails from a selected location.
